Analysis and design of selection committees: a game theoretic approach

This is a stochastic game model of a two person selection committee that interviews candidates sequentially, each coming with values (x,y) to the two committee members (the players). These values are drawn from some distribution F on the square, independently of previous candidates. In round one, each player says yes or no to the candidate, if at least one yes she is tentatively hired; otherwise the next candidate is considered. If the candidate is tentatively hired in a split decision, the player who said no can veto (but has one less veto for future candidates). We consider the game G(i,j) where the players start with i and j vetoes. This game has some surprising equilibrium behavior. For more information, click here.
