Logic seems, generally speaking, to appeal to students with a philosophical bent, as well as to
those who are attracted to topics like abstract algebra.
It is rather abstract in character, and most applications of Logic (in Mathematics or beyond) are
of a theoretical nature. It
is also rather more combinatorial than conceptual: in many instances, Logic deals with the finite and discrete.
