Information for students
Master students specializing in topology are expected to have attende the Bachelar courses "Topology and Geometry" and Differentiable Manifolds" which are being taught every year in Utrecht. In their Master Program, they are free to choose courses from the following programs, which jointly offer a good selection of courses including ones on basic subjects such as symplectic, differential and algebraic topology, Lie groups, homological algebra, etc:
- Mastermath is a set of national courses. Interesting courses for the second semester include Algebraic topology, Algebraic geometry, Modular Forms and Variational and topological methods for nonlinear partial differential equations.
- Local courses in Utrecht is a set of courses organized at Utrecht University. Interesting courses in the second semester include Lie groups.
- Masterclass Aspects of Calabi-Yau geometries is an international masterclass organized at Utrecht University. Interesting courses in the second semester include Frobenius manifolds and Gromov-Witten invariants and Lagrangian Fibrations on Calabi-Yau Varieties.
If you are interested in doing a Master thesis or a PhD thesis under the supervision by a member of our group, we suggest you take a look at the research interests of each of them. You can also find examples of theses of former PhD students here. We have collected some examples of recent Master's theses here.
