How fractal is the sum of two random fractals?
Michel Dekking
(TU Delft)
Abstract: We consider two types of random Cantor sets, M-adic random Cantor sets, and Larsson's random Cantor sets. For both we will consider a probabilistic version of the Palis conjecture: does the sum of the Hausdoff dimensions larger than 1 imply that the algebraic difference of two independent copies contains an interval almost surely?
