Unitary representations of gauge groups

Bas Janssens (UU)

Abstract: As the name suggests, gauge transformations are an essential ingredientof gauge theories, which figure prominently in the standard model.Although the group of gauge transformations is infinite dimensional, its unitary representation theory turns out to be remarkably tractable. We present recent classification results on certain classes ofprojective unitary representations.
