ABSTRACT
Exact radial speed of the support of SuperBrownian motion
Andreas Kyprianou , March 12, 2003
We consider a superBrownian motion which does not become extinct with
positive probability and show that the largest ball which contains the
support of the process at time t has a precise asymptotic radial speed, on
survival as t tends to infinity, which is determined by the "mass creation
parameter".
This result makes use of Pinsky's local extinction criterion (to be
explained) and further generalizes the classical result of McKean for
branching Brownian motion concerning the asymptotic speed of the right
most particle.
