Seminar on Operads, Groupoids and Quantization

Organizers: Klaas Landsman and Ieke Moerdijk.

The seminar will be in the general area of Geometry and Quantum Theory, the subject of the NWO cluster with the same name, and will meet on alternating Fridays, mostly in Utrecht. The general plan is to present parts of the book Momentum Maps and Hamiltonian Reduction by Ortega and Ratiu (Birkhauser 2004) in the mornings, and some papers (work of Cattaneo, Kontsevich and others) in the general area of operads, (formal symplectic) groupoids and graph (co)homology in the afternoons. The seminar will be particularly directed towards PhD students, but will be of interest to all researchers in quantization theory in connection with differential geometry and algebraic topology.
